Hives and the Swiss

Lets start with the bad news...oh, and sorry for the mini pictures...
I have HIVES!!!! AHAHAHA!
This picture is not of me, but it looks just as nasty!
It all started Wednesday, and I've been in torture ever since!
If you have ever had hives, you know the pain!!! They itch itch ITCH!!!
Hopefully, after all sorts of pregnancy safe meds, I am on the mend!

And onto much much better news, I went with my sister-in-law to Swiss days in Heber.
I had a ton of fun, and it was really nice to be with Kim, and no kids! Thanks Jeff.
We did enjoy all the creations in the booths, but mostly loved the creations in the kitchen.
The Swiss Tacos as they are called up there, were to die for.

All in all, even with the hives torturing me, it was a great week and a really fun weekend!

ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS!!!!!!!!!!

First things first!
Lucy is at the age where EVERYTHING we do, she wands to!
Open the fridge (or just empty its contents) , take our the garbage (or just play in it),
flush the toilet (or just enjoy the water..) and wear what we wear!

Ok! So the $100.00 dollar comment....that is what I spent at the grocery store!!!
All my LIFE , even when I'd go for my mom, I never spent that.
Sadly, I think it is from the rising price of fruits, veggies and dairy that we eat.
SO.....I had to have something to show for it, which would be the grilled red curry chicken, with grilled pineapple, mango and avacado salid!

Miscellaneous Memories

Our latest Miscellaneous doings...

Sadly, this may just have been our last trip to the pool.
Its not cold yet, but colder then really warm, and if Lucy is going to LOVE the water,
then I'd better be cautious about forcing her into freezing waters.
So, Lucy loves shopping, and this is her latest creation. She loves to sit like this,
and her chub oozes in between the carts wires. Darling!

Um, ok. Is this even possible?
A diaper wedgie! And I thought I had it bad.
But just imagine a cotton stuffed diaper and
whatever else absorbs all the junk, cramming into all the places you don't want it to.
Sorry Lucy!

This was at the Bountiful International Festival Street dance. Need I say that she
really enjoyed herself.
Ok. And last but NOT LEAST!!!!!!!!
This my friends is not your grannies rasin pie, or your great aunt Marthas
prune and rasberrie creation.
No no no!
This is a Plum pie.
Because I have a fabulous friend named Jenna, we had plums coming out our ears.
So, after nearly a week of eating nothing but plums (oh, and apricots still! YUM)
I decided something needed to be done with the yummie buggers!
The pie has not been eaten, but I'm sure you'll hear the end of this story.
Until next time, CHOW!!!

THE BECKS!!!!!

Lest I bore you to DEATH....I'll try and not talk for days about the Becks coming in town.
Before I start...it all began with, well, JUST the Sloans!
In age order, obviously not height
Jenny Butler, Audrey Beck, Abe Sloan and Jackie Sanders.
The Becks have been in Ohio for dental school, and are officially 4th years!
That means the end!
We had way way way to much fun with them, and it was just great to see the cutie kids, and introduce Lulu to her cousins!
We CAN'T wait for them to come back!
This is us, the fam!
One of the best things about being host is that you eat all kinds of great foods....Burgers,
Ruben Sandwiches, Pancakes, Eclairs, Donuts, Ice Cream....
AND Lucy LOVED having Brigham around, to feed her, constantly!
As if she needed help, but thanks Brig!

The "grandies" all wanted to do a private parade, which was so cute!
 They even threw candy!
Oh, did I forget the popsicles? Yes, we must be Sloans!
We did the zoo, which is always fun, espically if you go just when they are closing,
then you can stay later, with out the sun and crowds.
And it all went out with a BANG!! The demolition derby! SO SO SO fun!!!
I have not been to one in years!
Becks, thanks a BILLION!!!
It was way to fun, and we can't wait to do it again!

Ahhh, adorable, appetizing APRICOTS!!!!

I just HATE to see and apricot fall off the tree, and not realize its full potential...so....

it began with.....
PICKING

then we continued to bottling ...

starting with a fresh batch, transforming into fruit leather...

and went out like a lion...covered in cocolate!!!
These were a few of my adventures with the apricots.
Not shown here are the pounds and pounds that were consumed before, during
and after all these processes. (And are still being consumed! YUM!!!)

I'll spare you the details of turning them into jam...so for now, enjoy the apricot leather, bottles and chocolate dipped morsels!

Oh, and lest I forget our BIG BIG news of the week...Lucy cut her first TOOTH!!!!
This, sadly, was not with out the sleepless night, BUT she can't wait to
enjoy all the more apricots!!
YESH!!!!
