It must be love!!

"I didn't know I was being photographed" says Jeff. Maybe if he did,
he'd have pretended he was having as much fun as the kids.
Are you kidding me. Look at these two babies! LOVE these growing kiddies.
From Cox farm, we each got to pick out a pumpkin.
Check out the massive beast Luce chose.
We painted till our hearts could paint no more.
And this bum practically gets more squeezes then Henry does!
Oh how we love this squishy body!

Fall Festival Days at Mt. Vernon.
We rode on the horse drawn carriage, made crafts, and soaked up the glorious sun.
Gorgeous day, and plenty of beautiful green grass to run on.

Can NOT get enough of this one.
Charlie has really been a mamas boy lately, and I'll gladly take ANY second I get
to squeeze his tiny hands!

Its BEA-U-TIFUL fall at our house!!
We have lived outside for the last week!
Oh I can't tell you, in love!
We made a few leaf piles and leaf mazes, had great friends over for s'mores,
gone on more then our share of walks and park visits! We.are.in.love.

How I adore these sweeties!
These two boys have brought more joy in my life then I ever could have created.
Charlie never was cruel or mean to Henry, rather just standoffish.
But, lately, they've been each others cream in the coffee.
Charlie tries to share everything with Henry (especially his tiny rocks, bouncy balls, and small pony accessories) and wants to hold, hug and love in constantly! I LOVE these two boys,
and feel so blessed to be their mother.

The story.
This is a SINGING Areal necklace Lucy got for her birthday.
Charlie has taken this token under his wing, and hardly lets it leave his side.
I have gotten the greatest joy watching his tiny, chubby fingers push the button....
and once the button is pushed, Areal and Charlie begin their duet!
Oh, this boy can sing!
He puts prince charming to shame!

My darling boy! I love you so.
Trick or Treat.
Our ward had the Trunk 'er Treat this weekend, and the kids went crazy.
Rather, Charlie went crazy for the suckers, Lucy went crazy for more candy,
and mama was just crazy!
What is there not to love about this time of year!!!! Its been a glorious few weeks,
and just keeps getting better.
Charlie did try a few times the trick 'er treating in reverse, giving the adults the candy,
but once he saw a sucker, it was over.
Henry, dear Henry. This is the year you did not have a costume.
YOU are the costume. You'd make any creation you wore look ridiculous,
because your glorious smile and dazzling personality would far outshine
anything you wear. Really henry, you are the costume.
Dear dear Charlie.
I feel guild when my super obedient children don't even dare open candy, with out asking.
On our way back out to the car, to head home, you should have seen the look on
Charlies face as he brought my candy he'd found on the floor, asked if he could have it,
and I said yes!
Oh Charlie, you deserve so much more candy.
And Luce, you lucky girl, you got 2 suckers, a smartie, half a donut and a cupcake!
You should be so lucky!
I think even that practically sent her into shock!!!
Maybe next year, I'll loosen up a bit! (Its doubtful. :) )
Hope all ya'lls fall has been as delightful, pleasant and joyful as ours has!
Happy Halloween and fall!

No justice done to Cox Farm

We packed our Lunch on Friday, and headed for Cox Farm.
Nothing will do Cox Farm justice.
This was better then Christmas!!!!
You pay to get in, and once in, there are:

By far, the best way i've spent my money in a long time!!
So so much fun !
One of the coolest things was they weren't just slides, but made them come out
of barns, around hill tops, and from under trees.
Super great idea!
Here comes Luce!
Lucy and Charlie LOVED the slides.
Who am I kidding, I LOVED the slides!
It was like being a kid all over again. Yes, I even screamed, and put my arms up.
Jeff slaved hard at work, while Abe (my brother) and I played.
We really wished he could have come,
but we're hoping to make it back before they close for the season.
This was the first slide we did.
With out hesitation, Luce wanted to go down by herself.
We laughed and screamed all the way, and once at the bottom they both said
"lets do it again!!"
I'm just about ready, going down the first blue slide, getting Chars and Luce situated.
Oh, don't think we forgot Henry. He even flew down a few.
They reminded me of the Fun House slide they use to have at Lagoon,
but WAY bigger, and even better now that I'm older!!
Heres "unkie Abe" who we've LOVED LO-VED having at our house!

You get some serious speed going down these,
and to my surprise, Charlie did some on his own,
with the biggest smile on his face!
There was SO so so much to do here and SO much fun! We mostly did the slides,
we just simply couldn't get enough.
The kids all took a huge nap when we got home, (ok, even I did)
and its been the highlight of our fall!

How did this happen?

I think its just the funniest thing when I put Henry in average size containers,
and he seems to not fit.
Such was the case with this tupperware.
He wasn't totally amused, but didn't seem to really mind.
Takin a break from a rough day.
The rain has been so much more frequent here, and really has been quite enjoyable.

Sometimes it really is hard work. Right?
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LUCY!!!!!!!!
Eating her breakfast cereal. That is ALL she had for breakfast. 2 huge bowls, and then some!
I really truly, really truly cannot believe I have a 3 year old!
Its official, we no longer have 3 under 3.
Lucy has been a joy!!
Some things I love about Lucy:
she is helpful (holds doors, gets diapers, sweeps floors)
sing about EVERYTHING (sitting by people at church, putting shoes on, running....)
loves to talk about her baby, Betty ("Baby Betty's so sweet", Baby Betty's getting hungry",
"BB's ready to take a nap)
Still loves to paint her nails, and pick the nail off before I clip it completely
She really includes Charlie, and loves being with him
Loves to read books to Henry and Charlie
Reminds me when we're out if we've forgot to put a bow/clip in her hair
EVERY time we get in the car still says "you do my nother buckle"
Is still VERY clean
Hates when anything she's wearing gets wet or dirty
I could go on!!

We have adored our little girl, and
had such a fun time celebrating her birthday.

We had a party at our little park, and these were the spider cupcakes I made,
along with chocolate dipped pretzels, monster popcorn, cinnamon sugar bread
and toffee apple dip. It really was a party, and we had a GREAT TIME!

This is when we were singing.
She does get shy in public, and was particularly here .
After the party crash.
We had such a fun time at park, time flew, and before we knew it,
lunch time had come and gone. So, for lunch, this is what Henry had.
Squished and re-squished bread, that he mangled on the floor.
Birthday dinner at Moes. Not even a close second to Cafe Rio, but a fun night.
Oh Luce, how I love you!
I am super sad you've grown quicker then I'd even imagined,
but can't wait to see what our future holds !
I love you!

More then a mouth full!!!

This is what you get after 6 MONTHS of not going childless. One excited couple!
While my parents were in town, Jeff and I were able to do so many things, alone!
One of my favorites, an early morning bike ride to DC on the Custis Trail (A trail that finds its way in, through and around DC) SUPER fun!
This picture was our night out in Georgetown. Thanks Mom and Dad!
Just after this glorious picture was taken, we lost the car key!
Good thing we don't live that far from down town.
We had a friend bring down a key, and that next morning came looking for the key.
Yup, we found it!
We'll miss these two! Thanks for the fun!!!
We've been meaning to do some family photos.
We finally had a friend come and take some, but while she was taking some,
I did my own experimenting with the kiddies.
I love how some of these turned out.

Henry! We really do call him (endearingly) stinker!
We all just can't get enough of this happy go lucky smiler!
The night before, Charlie chipped his tooth (big time) on the tub.
Good thing he was a grump, otherwise, you'd have seen his now triangle front tooth.

Funny how they're all holding their hands.
(They're waiting for their fish crackers)
"Farm Day" at our beloved Cherry Hill Park.
Lucy SCREAMED when she got off the horse. She wanted to ride for so much longer.
She loved the pony ride.
The pumpkin which Charlie got to choose, and paint.
I asked him to show me the pumpkin, this is what I got.
They loved painting it.
We'll have to get some more before the seasons end.

Harpers Ferry.
Jeff had monday off, so we decided to make a weekend trip to the
picture-esk town of Harpers Ferry, in West Virginia.
BEAUTIFUL!
This historic town sits on the Shenandoah River, and did not disappoint.
So funny, Lucy, once we told her we were going on vacation, didn't stop saying the word.
I even caught her pulling up her Elmo underwear, whispering to herself, "vacation".
She'd often pick up the phone in the room, and explain, to any imaginary listener,
"we can't do that, we're on vacation".
Yes, we were!!
The kids peeking in what use to be the old cellars. They loved running
through this sleepy towns streets, and munching ice cream.
While the boys took a nap, Lucy and I did THIS.
We bought some kettle corn, and found us a little peace and quiet, and snacked away!

Can't believe in just 2 weeks this little one will be 3!!!!

Thank heavens for hotel beds.
If it weren't for them, our children may not even know how to jump.
Jeff and I were both feeling sluggish all weekend, which led to a very
relaxing, chill vacation.
Super glad we went!
