you better BET we DID!

Whoever reads this these days? Well, if you're out there, I can't help but post
a trillion pictures each time, and NO this is not all I take.
First, sweet Lucy just coming down a slide at Liberty Park. FUN park!
My poor abused baby, attempting to crawl, as to not get another smack to the head.
Not crawling yet, but my mom keeps saying literally any minute.
I think we're still a good week away.
Bless his sweet soul. Truly a sleeping beauty.
His head got better the next day, but his eye has gotten blacker and blacker, and is finally
(over a week later) starting to improve.
Why do I love this little girl so?
Our FAVORITE activity, which we do at least once a week, paint our nails.
She LOVES it, and being that she's not that much of a cudler, I love just sitting with her!
She gets so silly when I tell her we can paint our nails. She loves it. Oh, I adore my little girl!
OH YES WE DID! White TRASH!!!!!
Yup, we got our old selfs fair tickets! This cow was CRAZY big.
You can see the fear in my eyes. I mean this thing was HUGE!
Chars trying to ditch the food in the garden.
Loved the fair! We seemed to fit so well with those folk!
Really, it was a fun night on the town. (Sorry Cam).
And for the record, Heid, I was VERY disappointed in the $8!!!! funnel cake!
I wanted something with some meat to it, and that truly was not my cup of tea.
I should have saved my $8 for a sweet nail file.
Sorry Shawn, had to do it.
These kids love the bath. Lucys favorite past time, dumping Chars with water,
nearly the entire time. He is so tolerant!
Lucys perch while I get ready. She has found her front row seat,
and thinks she's the king of the world.
Free! the Circus came to town, and had themselves a parade!!!
Perfect day, thanks Auds and Ali!
Crazy, right? Look at those beasts! I do really feel bad for the sweet things,
but it was fun to have them right in front of us.
And this cracks me up.
When Lucy gets a book to read, she'll first adjust herself for the first few minutes, just to get right by Chars. It doesn't always work, as he'll usually want her book, but she has been really sweet with him, (for the most part), and we can't wait (6 more DAYS) to find out what our
3rd musketeer will be!!!!

This that and...OH!!! THAT!!!

Labor Day. (ARG!! I can't get this *%%^# underline off!! Sorry)

Why is it called Labor Day? For us, because its such a labor getting all the YUMMIE food prepared, and a labor to eat it all! We had a great picnic with my Fam with ribs, corn, salad, chips & the works, garlic bread, home MADE ice cream....yada yada! To die for. This look tells all.

These two crack me UP!!! They are truly like sole mates. They think, well, Lucy thinks Brig (who she calls B) is heaven! She ADORES this boy,
and he seems to think she's pretty dang cool. They were like an old couple at the BBQ.
Just relaxing together, rolling on the tramp together, so cute!
I LOVE this photo. Jeff was taking it of Chars and I, and this adoring look on his face just
warms 'me old heart'! He can be a hand full, at least when you are not giving him 100% of your attention, but when you're with him, hes a DOLL!
I thought it was really funny, comparing last year canning peaches to this year.
Last year, I had little Lucy, 8 months old, and little Chars on the way!
and THIS year, Lucy, 23 months, Char, 9 months and baby ? on the way! I love it!
It was a bit more chaotic, I still didn't avoid the late hours, but oh, when you sink your teeth into a "fresh" peach in the middle of winter...AH!!!!
We went to the first annual Maize Days in Layton on Sat. and Chars swung on the swings for the first time! Loved it! We had a great time, did some crafts, bought some fab. jewlery, and LOVED the cooler weather.
Ok, so I'm famous for before and afters. This is our sweet boy, before...
and here he is, after! :(
He had a nasty fall, really hit his forhead (where the shine is) and it swelled his eye.
Poor thing was SO tough about it, and has been a trooper!
Whats better then free? 15$!!!
We got this slide for just said price!! And its Lucys new best friend! LOVE IT! Can't wait till Chars can go down to.

Oh, the poor little buddie!
His eye just makes me so sad, but its much better today, then the first day.

Our latest (VERY) unforgettable vacation

This post will start similar to how it will finish...
We took all non-school grandies out to Wheeler Farm with Great Grandpa.
Despite being really hot, and Lucy having been throwing that previous day, it was fun.
Lucy got sick in the night, which we did not discover until the morning. (this has happened several times, poor girl!!!)
The cousins on the wagon. My heck, there are still 4 OTHERS that are not here!!
That is a lot of kids, from 3 girls (thanks to Jenny)
Lucy is really scared of ducks, but loved feeding them.
And here the story begins. Monday, Jeff called me, and asked if the kids and I would like to join him for a 3 day work trip. Sure, why the heck not.
We loaded up, stopped for dinner on the way down, and no later then 8 pm, it all started. What started? Oh, read on!!!
So, Jeff began feeling sick, and I joined in the misery. We had the kids in bed, went out for a walk, really tried to enjoy our time in the hotel, but decided to call it an early night.
A few hours after laying there, Jeff and I then began taking turns running to the bathroom. As to what occurred there, I'll leave to your imagination, but it was NOT pleasant!!!!
Let me say it was the longest night I've had in a LONG time! I was able to briefly see the humor in it, as I was in bed, waiting for my run to the bathroom, when Jeff came back in. I just looked at him and said "are you joking". Really. The last time either one of us had been that sick was a LONG LONG time, and both been sick together, NEVER.
Ok, well, so the next day, I could have really used a babysitter, or any help with the kids, but the tramp at the hotel was as close as I got.
It was a really long LONG day, of which I'm thrilled to say i survived!
By dinner time, Jeff had sufficiently recovered, and I figured the
scrap of food I'd manage to choke down would
no longer hold me, so we headed to JB's. (I know, thrilling, but
all I wanted was warm soup (yes, in 90 degree weather.)) Anyway, it was
great for the kids to get out, and they both loved the restaurant.
This little stinker kept so buys with the menu. He was really good,
and we have been lucky while going out to dinner with our kiddos. Its usually
a really good experience.
We did have to relocate for Jeff's work, and Lucy didn't seem to mind
her new location. They are great sleepers, so far everywhere we've been (knock on wood!!)
We figured out that in all our adventures with our kids, or just with Lucy, she has
NEVER slept in a hotel!! She's been in all sorts of tents, vacation homes, friends home, cabins...but not in a hotel! Crazy! We loved the pool, and we had it all to ourselves.

Charlie is up for most things, tolerates a LOT, and seemed to like the water.
I'm thrilled to say that it turned out to be a great family vacation, despite the rocky beginning.
(yes, we discovered it was food poising, but depending on what in-law you talk to, you'll get a different diagnosis. ) At any rate, we're thrilled that was over, and that this family vacation is one to never forget.
