Nothing Spectacular

Jeff is THE CUTEST father!
When asking him wether he wanted Henry in the stroller or Bjorn, he replied
"oh, Henry really likes the Bjorn, I'll wear that."
Jeff always wears it, and is such a man!
This is just a glimpse of the fun they have while sporting the Bjorn.
The kids can never get their fill of books or Grannie. We've kept them buys.
Henry still has a few months before he won't fit under the cupboards.
Until then, I'm thrilled to have him as my help in the kitchen!
Nearly the size of him, but this is perfect to stir.
Over the weekend we went to Gettysburg.
Being a history buff, Jeff loved soaking in the sites, museums and war monuments.
I also loved that, but enjoyed more the AMAZING landscape of the Pennsylvania valley.
The farm lands out here are so different then out west, and with fall in the air, it was beautiful!
Arlington National Cemetery, at dusk.
My mother, smart as she may be, put the parking ticket into the CD player.
Despite that minor set back, we were able to show them the changing of the guard,
and strolled through the amazing crosses, row on row.
We had been before, but when leaving, Lucy said, "I really like this place"
She's been SO funny lately, and I still have a hard time thinking of her as a girl, not a baby!

Like mother, like daughter

Its been back to school hair cuts at our house, so the little girls, while waiting for the
mamas, the girls couldn't help but get in the action.
This picture makes me laugh. Look how wet Luce's hair is.

Assume the position. This is what happens at our house when the vacuum comes on.
The kids jump on Luces bed the bed.
Our little taste of falls church festival. Food, train rides, art and FUN.
Charlie already has a target. Punch it Charlie.
The art crafts were super fun. Bracelets, sand pictures and ornaments.
"hmmn, let me think how much more food I can consume in one setting"
OUR GRANNIE CAME!!!
My parents told me they were coming 4 days before they got here.
Since being here, we've all done our stretching with Grannie.
First day of Preschool.
I organized a little play group/preschool with 2 of our neighbor friends.
This was Lucys show and tell for the letter "L"
Henry, you WILL eat this Cheerio.
We've been on many picnics, and found furry friends.
(infact my mom pointed out we've been on ONE every day since she's been here)
This is normal. High heels, pink stroller, and not seen, the pink nail polish (just on ONE finger)
Henry getting excited to hear "Mr Nick-Nack"
As my mom called him, a singing Mr. Rogers.
LOVE this stinker!
Its happening. The leaves are changing, and fall is in the AIR!
Mt. Vernon had their Colonial Market this week.
Carving, chocolate making, KNIFE SWALLOWING....
oh, and basket weaving, done by Chars.
Its been 3 days since G&G came, and we hope to make the rest of the 2 weeks just as exciting!

182.621099 days

Good Golly miss MOLLY!! Henry has reached the 182 day mark. He is 6 MONTHS OLD!
I really feel like I've tried to savor this little one, but looking back now, its been 6 MONTHS, and I fell like I've missed so much!
Henry is happy 99.5% of the time. honest.
He LOVES him some potatoes, carrots, green beans, sweet potatoes....
He wiggles like crazy when he hears you coming in his door to get him.
Does a little snorting thing when excited.
Smiles at EVERYONE.
Jabbers most his waking hours.
Loves LOVES to be tickled, epically by the kids. (by them shaking their heads on his tummy)
Has been sitting up for 2 weeks now.
Oh how we love you Henry!

Yes, those are piggies in Luces hair. The back and sides are long enough to put up,
but the top still has some growing to do.
Finally, after nearly 3 YEARS, I did Luces hair for the first time!!
My darling friend Kari and her girls came with us to Alexandria.
While there, the kids got fireman hats, ate cupcakes, fed the ducks, and soaked in the last of the summer sun.
Charlie and Hayden.
(Funny thing about these guys, they have a dog named Matt. While on vaca. the other week,
Charlie woke up in the middle of the night and yelled "MATT". )
Picnic in the park
How cute is this!!!!
My DARLING husband bathes and read books to the kids every night.
Henry has been on the same sleep schedule, but not been able to join story time,
until now!
Our zoo (which despite being free) leaves visitors wanting more.
However, they have an awesome aquarium!! These fish were HUGE.
Take note of the pink bird in front of Charlie.
This is the bird that practically ate Charlie for lunch.
Chars had walked up to it, and without a second thought,
the bird snatched Charlies arm in its beak.
It went nearly up to Charlies elbow, didn't hurt at all, but scared him to death.
It was kinda funny. Sorry Chars.
It had to be done.
Over the Labor Day Weekend, we went with our FAVORITE Virginia couple, Zack and Karlyn
to Sandy Shore State Park.
We had to see the beach one more time before summers end.
The newly ENGAGED couple!!! Can't wait!
Thanks to Uncle Z, Henry got his first feel of sand. How thoughtful!
This kid ought to be on Americas Got Talent!
Sitting up AND keeping a pretzel suspended in his mouth.
Sorry Karlyn. It HAD to be done. Toes in the sand.
Lucys favorite place to see the water, from afar. We'll get her yet!

We enjoyed a stroll around Annapolis, while the boys enjoyed the cool breeze in the stroller.
Annapolis is a charming port town, where the U.S. Naval Academy is located.
To welcome in his 6 month birthday (not really) , his first bike ride.
Loved it.
Our new favorite park, Clemyjontri Park.
In the famous Langley/ McLean neighborhood.
Its so big it has 4 outdoor "rooms"
but, the kids favorite part...
the Mary-GO-Round.
LOVED IT!
It was a crazy day to go because of the holiday, so the line for the M-G-R was outrageous, but I think this is where we'll be having Luces b-day party (shhh, don't tell!)
